WORDS TO LIVE BY
Stand fi rm therefore in the liberty by which
Christ has made us free, and don't be
entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:1
What are your favorite things to do to
commemorate Independence Day?
A lot of people take advantage of the holiday to
relax with friends and family while enjoying good
food and time spent together. Perhaps some
will take in a ball game; others might spend the
weekend camping; and most will gather at dusk to
gaze into the twilight sky to "ooh" and "aah" at
the choreographed pyrotechnic display.
This year, how might we look at our celebrations
differently in light of what we've read in this issue?
What can we do to celebrate the men and women
of our communities who have given of themselves
so that we can enjoy our freedom? How can we
open our hearts and lives so that everyone is able
to experience the joys of freedom?

Napkins are things we use and discard every day. Life can so easily
be discarded as well. "A Sketch in Time" takes the idea of a discarded
napkin and redeems the art that has been drawn upon it. Take comfort
in knowing that God specializes in Redeeming the Discarded.
What Holds
You Captive?
"If the Son sets you free,
you will be free indeed."
